La Nostra Famiglia

Our Story

Family-owned and family-run in Hampton, Virginia for more than three decades.

Who We Are

Scratch-made, the old-fashioned way

Mama Rosa's is a family-owned Italian restaurant that has served Hampton, Virginia for more than 30 years. We make our food fresh when you order it — from hand-tossed pizza dough to slow-simmered sauces, house-baked bread, and desserts made in-house.

We're proud to offer a full-service dining room, a vibrant atrium, a full bar, takeout, in-house delivery, and private dining rooms for events of every size. Whether it's a weeknight dinner or a family celebration, our goal is the same one it's always been: good food, generous portions, and genuine hospitality.

Good Food, Made by Family, for Yours

Mama Rosa's has always run on the same simple idea — family recipes, made fresh, served by people who care whether you enjoyed your meal. That hasn't changed, and it isn't going to.

Family Recipes

Every sauce, every dough, every dessert traces back to recipes made in the family kitchen long before they ever reached ours.

Made Fresh Daily

Nothing sits and waits. We cook to order, bake bread by hand, and prep our kitchen fresh every single day.

Still Family-Run

From the dining room to the kitchen, Mama Rosa's is still run day to day by the family that started it.

Salvatore Lopiccolo, Carrying It Forward

Salvatore is Franco and Mimma's son, and today he runs Mama Rosa's alongside his son Anthony — the next generation keeping the family's recipes, and its hospitality, alive in Hampton.

Around the restaurant, around the holidays, and around the table, Mama Rosa's has always been about family first. That's still true today.

In Loving Memory

Francesco “Franco” Lopiccolo

Co-founder of Mama Rosa's and father of current owner Salvatore Lopiccolo. Franco's hands baked the bread that started it all. His memory continues to guide our kitchen every single day.
